Aug-tree is an interactive installation that aims to break the barriers between artistic object and the audience.
The idea, is the possibility of a spontaneous music creation without preceived knowledge of the instrument.
The tree acts as a “medium”. Reflecting different ambients as the day passes. This is translated in the “fruits” behavior (sound and light), generating from cacophonic to simple harmonic sounds.
Each “fruint” is sculpted in a particular way, giving the user a different sensorial experience when manipulating them.Inside each “fruit” there is a sensor sending different acceleration values to a computer, via a Arduino board.
Then those values are examined and computed in Puredata triggering sound, and sending messages back to the RGB Led color inside of each one.
